Is Running For Me?
Is running for me?
Running is a very simple form of exercise, all you really need to succeed is a little patience, some confidence about what your body can do and the right training plan to build a base level of fitness that you can go forward from.
When you think about running or exercising regularly, does any of this sound familiar?
- I am not an athlete and regular exercise does not come naturally to me.
- I feel starting a diet and exercise program at the same time is too hard.
- I can’t see myself doing ‘an interval’, never mind high intensity interval training!
- I only have so much willpower and I need to feel I am getting somewhere before it runs out.
- I am worried about overexerting myself, I am not sure if I am fit enough to run. Am I?
- I want to start doing something to lose weight now but I can’t get started.
This is exactly how I felt before I started to pick up running for the first time. I had lots of doubts and zero confidence but after I had gently trained myself up, I was amazed at what I could do.
Once you realise that regular running is achievable and you start to make progress, you will be amazed too.
If you really want to lose weight and keep it off long term then getting into running is one of the best things that you can do.
