About

I am so glad you have found my blog and I’ll be thrilled if it helps you.

Like many people who are overweight, I’ve struggled for years trying to lose it. Although I have had some successes, I have always bounced back up to my full weight again, strangely always at about the same level.

I have realise now that this is because I’ve not managed to sustain whatever I’ve been doing to lose weight, I have never made it a habit.

I’ve learned lots about exercise and nutrition over the years. Enough to feel that this time I am better equipped than ever and I am going to form the habits I need to lose weight sustainably and for the long term, improving my health by bounds along the way.

I’m determined. I hope you are too.

My biggest success in the past has been with running.
I remember the amazing feeling long of getting up at 6am on a freezing morning and running 5km in the dark and hardly noticing the effort. I also remember my first 10km run, I was so astounded at what I’d been able to do. That after 6 months ‘training’.
I had reached the point where most days I could glide around my course, switch off completely as the running was effortless.
I was enjoying running so much and changed what and how I was eating. I lost a lot of weight but that was a few years ago.
I want to get back to that point. I know I can, as when I started out running originally I could only manage 30 seconds of running max.
So if you are a beginner, I know you can start running too. It is just a question of training and getting yourself into a good regular running habit, the rest will follow. I firmly believe that. Then the weight loss will follow, big time.

I have documented the training approach I am using on my blog here.

This is a Beginners Running Plan that I believe will work. I have followed parts of this in the past but I have also made changes so that I can focus on building a running habit earlier on, instead of being a slave to the training schedule.

Because if you can form a running habit, you’re not just exercising to lose weight but you are making changes to your life, and that is what you need to do to keeping weight off long term.

It might be the right approach for you, or it may not be. If not customise it, take what you want from it but I firmly believe the overall approach is good.

I am following this plan myself, if you are interested find out more I am going to be perfectly honest about how I get on.

If you do start out running get in touch and let me know how you are doing.

Good luck & Happy Running!
